Meet the Team
Maria Elisabetta Bellini
Italy on Trail was created by Maria Bellini who was born in the UK but has been living in Italy since the early 1990’s.
In 2006 Maria took up trail running and has been involved in the trail scene ever since. As part of the founding team of The Abbots Way Ultra, Maria witnessed the Italian trail running environment grow from just a trickle of sparse events to the major movement that it has become today.
With a background in writing and design, Maria has been working on the creative aspect of sports promotion and trail running for over ten years.
Maria loves using trail running as a means to explore nature, contemplation and Italy.
Her most memorable races include:
100km del Passatore (which isn’t even a trail!) – MMT 100Mile Magredi Mountain Trail – Amorotto Trail – Vigolana Trail – Tuscany Crossing – Ultrabericus – Trail del Cinghiale – San Galgano – and the Mon Viso Trail.
Maria also had the fantastic opportunity to crew for the Italian Athlete Paolo Bucci in the 2011 Badwater Ultramartahon.
